Program
Once a week, jazz fills Café del Centre. Live music, good food, and the perfect plan to stretch the afternoon at an easy pace.
SCHEDULE
“Place your bets!” the croupier would shout, sitting at one end of the hexagonal table that presided over the Cafè del Centre in 1873, when it opened its doors as a casino. 150 years on, and this same table that has a slit to house the chips is still the star of the show, although no longer for poker games, but for long, tasty meals and after-dinner conversations.
In 2022, Victor Ferrer, chef at Betlem, took over the reins of the Cafè del Centre’s gastronomic proposal and offers a menu of signature tapas that blend in perfectly with the setting and the modernist décor of the unique establishment.
The open-plan atmosphere of the Cafè del Centre is cosy and relaxed, a far cry from the bustling times of yesteryear. The vast space has marble tables with iron feet, wooden benches, mirrors and an old bar lit by balls hanging from the ceiling. All this has been recognised by Barcelona City Council, which has awarded the establishment the title of Emblematic.
