SCHEDULE
La Font del Gat was a very popular spot in Barcelona at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, where every weekend the traditional and well-known “Fontades” were held—popular gatherings around the fountain to dance, eat, and drink. In 1925, Puig i Cadafalch built a building there to serve as the headquarters for the La Font del Gatrestaurant.
A hundred years later, this space comes back to life with the new Fontades of the 21st century, aiming to reclaim the popular heritage of the “merenderos” that have traditionally occupied Montjuïc. The recovery of the city’s historical heritage is not just about preserving buildings or facades, but also about bringing these spaces back into the lives of Barcelona’s working-class communities.
The gastronomic offering—short, direct, and for everyone—will coexist with a cultural and leisure program featuring various formats like live music, collaborations with cultural organizations, temporary exhibitions, and open-air cinema.
Come, eat, drink, and dance. The Festivities of Barcelona are back!
